On Being Saved Nothing that is worth doing can be achieved in our lifetime; therefore we must be saved by hope. Nothing which is true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone, therefore we must be saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as it is from our standpoint; therefore we must be saved by the final form of love, which is forgiveness. ~Reinhold Niebuhr
Build in the uncertainty principle. In quantum physics, the uncertainty principle is the premise that the more you know about where something is, the less you know about where it is likely to be next, and when. In the rest of the world, it means that your planning brings you closer to having things not work out precisely as you plan. The more your control, the more visible the things you cannot control become. The uncertainty principle cannot be engineered out of life. All we can do is relax and enjoy its unexpected fruit.

Each of us is willed, each of us is loved, each of us is necessary."

In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted resolution (A/RES/55/282) designating September 21st of each year as an International Day of Peace. In short, the IDP Vigil movement is meant:
“To encourage worldwide,
24-hour spiritual observations for peace, non-violence and global ceasefire on the
International Day of Peace, 21 September,
in every house of worship and place of spiritual practice,
by all religious and spiritually based groups and individuals
and by all men, women and children who seek peace in the world.”
Please go to the website, www.idpvigil.com, for information on how you can
continue to be involved.
There will be no peace among the peoples of this world without peace among the world religions. There will be no peace among the world religions without peace among the Christian churches. The community of the Church is an integral part of the world community. Ecumenism ad intra, concentrated on the Christian world, and ecumenism ad extra, oriented toward the whole inhabited earth, are interdependent. Peace is indivisible. It begins with us.
